Commercial Lines Field Underwriter 

Indiana or Ohio based position.  Potential also exists for candiates from Central Kentucky or Southern Michigan as well.

 Working in one of our service offices or from your home, the selected candidate will represent the company primarily in Indiana and Ohio. The candidate will be responsible for developing and servicing a book of business related to feed mills through our independent agents. While building vital relationships with our agency partners and feed mill operators. This role is accountable for production, retention and profit of the feed mill business. A primary focus will include reviewing and underwriting new applications for feed mills, determining acceptability of risk in accordance with company guidelines and standards, providing risk control services, and overseeing the maintenance, profit and growth of a book of business.

Preferred candidates will reside in either Ohio or Indiana, potential also exists for candiates from Central Kentucky or Southern Michigan as well.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's or Associate's degree and a minimum of 5 years' commercial lines underwriting experience of feed mills with a property and casualty insurance company. Successful attainment of, or work toward, insurance designations (ARM, CPCU, CIC, etc.) is required, and excellent negotiation, sales management, customer service and analytical skills are essential.
